THE COMPASSIONATE MOTHER SRI SRI SARADA DEVI – 033
Chapter 10
THE DACOIT FATHER – 05
Later Sarada Devi went back to her native village and again came to Dakshineswar in 1884 (January-February). At this time, just when she left her village, the Master, in Dakshineswar, tumbled down on the railings when he was in an ecstatic mood. As a result, he had a bone in the left hand dislocated and suffered. [When Sarada Devi arrived at Dakshineswar], the Master learnt that she had started from her village at a very inauspicious hour in the afternoon of Thursday. He then said complainingly, “There it is! I got my hand injured because you started on Thursday afternoon. Go back; go and make a fresh start.” The very next day Sarada Devi left for her village home to recommence the journey.
After this, probably for the occasion of Ramlal’s marriage, she went back to her village home and returned to Dakshineswar again in March 1885.7 (7 According to Sri Ramakrishna the Great Master, the Mother was in her parental house in August 1884. The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna says that she was in the Nahabat in March 1885.) As she was unable to find someone who could accompany her, her trip to Dakshineswar was delayed. Sarada Devi had said to Nikunja Devi, “My dear, at that time when I did not come for about nine months, he (the Master) suffered very much”
