Receiving the vision of God depends on divine grace. One monk was practicing austerities in Rishikesh. He wrote a letter to Holy Mother: "Mother, you told me that I would see the Master in time. But nothing has happened so far." The Mother dictated a reply to her attendant:
"The Lord is not under any obligation to go forward to meet you just because you have gone to Rishikesh in the Himalayas. You have become a monk. What else will you do other than call on God? God will reveal Himself when it pleases Him."
