INTELLIGENCE & WISDOM

*Profound distinctions between *Intelligence* and *Wisdom*
(from our ancient Texts )

*1. Intelligence leads to arguments.  Wisdom leads to settlements.*

*2. Intelligence is power of will. Wisdom is power OVER  will.*

*3. Intelligence is heat, it burns. Wisdom is warmth, it comforts.*

*4. Intelligence is pursuit of knowledge, it tires the seeker. Wisdom is pursuit of truth, it inspires the seeker.*

*5. Intelligence is holding on. Wisdom is letting go.*

*6. Intelligence leads you. Wisdom guides you.*

*7. An intelligent man thinks he knows everything. A wise man knows that there is still something to learn.*

*8. An intelligent man always tries to prove his point. A wise man knows there really is no pointy prove*.

*9. An intelligent man freely gives unsolicited advice. A wise man keeps his counsel until all options are considered.*

*10. An intelligent man understands what is being said. A wise man understands what is left unsaid.*

*11. An intelligent man speaks when he has to say something. A wise man speaks when he has something to say.*

*12. An intelligent man sees  everything as relative.A wise man sees everything as related.*

*13. An intelligent man tries to control the flow. A wise man navigates the flow.*

*14. An intelligent man preaches. A wise man reaches.*

*Intelligence is good but wisdom achieves better results.*

Grand Staircase to Art Institute of Chicago, where Swami Vivekananda delivered his world-famous address

#BirthAnniversary #SwamiVivekananda
The year was 1893. A young monk from India opened the World’s Parliament of Religions with an electrifying speech that brought the assembled representatives of the world’s major faiths to their feet.

The monk was Vivekananda, who had come to Chicago without a formal connection to the parliament but nonetheless managed to secure an invitation to give not only an opening address but several more speeches.

More than 6,000 people crowded into the assembly hall of the 9 Memorial Art Palace, now the Art Institute of Chicago, to hear the young man speak.

Passionately and eloquently, Vivekananda called for the end of religious bigotry and intolerance. Today, his galvanising words adorn the grand staircase of Art Institute of Chicago, just as relevant even after 127 years.

The installation, that treats the museum’s Grand Staircase almost like a notepad, was built by Mumbai-based artist Jitish Kallat as a powerful visual symbol of hope and shared humanity.

Q&A : How to develop determination? How to strengthen the will?

Q : How to develop determination?

A : How to develop determination? How to strengthen the will? Only by repeated use of the will. You determine to wake up at five in the morning; something in you wakes you up. If you get up, the will goes up one notch. Next day again, one notch. In no time at all, nothing can stop you from getting up._

Follow the legend of Parvati, the Hindu mother of the natural world, as she disappears from Earth and reemerges as Annapurna, the goddess of food. -- Historically, the union between Shiva and Parvati was a glorious one: a sacred combination which brought fertility and connection to all living things. Yet a rift had grown between these two forces. Setting out to prove the importance of her work, Parvati withdrew from the world and sent the Earth into darkness. Antara Raychaudhuri and Iseult Gillespie tell the story of the goddess Annapurna. Lesson by Antara Raychaudhuri and Iseult Gillespie, directed by Roxane Campoy, music by Stéphane Gassot. TEMPLES OF INDIA

The Achyuta Raya Temple is in Hampi. It was built in 1534 AD. It is one of the major, splendid and awe-inspiring temples of Hampi located between the Matanga hills and Gandhamadana. This magnificent temple depicts Vijayanagara architecture style of temples in its best and most improved form. This was among the last dazzling temples that were constructed in the celebrated city of Hampi prior to the decline of the Vijayanagara Empire.
